Wakarusa Nursery School The Wakarusa Nursery School is the beginning of formal education. Everything is basic and each day is one of wonder and discovery. The children learn to play together, to share toys and friends, to adjust to new adults and children, and to discover new interests outside the home. They learn to control their bodies in a more skillful manner, to express and cope with their thoughts and feelings, and to live in a daily give-and-take situation with others. A variety of activities in art, music, motor skill development, book experience, computer, and special-interest groups are introduced. The goal of the Wakarusa Nursery School is to provide an environment that will be filled with opportunities for a child to grow and succeed in all of these areas. The Wakarusa Nursery School offers classes for 3–4 year-olds on Tuesday and Thursday. The classes meet from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Classes for 4–5 year olds are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Nursery School is located at 309 South Elkhart Street in Wakarusa.
