Quilt Garden Tours
Wakarusa is the home to one of the official Quilt Gardens on
the 2008 Quilt Garden Tour. Also visit our Quilt Mural located
downtown on the Keybank building and an orginal Jellybean mural

Wakarusa Jamboree
"One of the biggest jamboree's in the country". Starting
September 2000, the jamboree is held the first Thursday of each
month at 6:30 pm. September through May it is held at the NorthWood
Middle School and from June through August it is located at an
outdoor stage at Schmidt Furniture at 903 Nelson's Parkway just
down the street from FBCU. Come and visit our version of the "Grand
'Ol Opry". No admission charge. For more information call

Steak in the Park
This event is held on a Saturday in June at the downtown park;
this is an evening of fun, fellowship, and delicious New York
Strip steak. This event is a fundraiser for the Lions Club. The
Lions Club are celebrating over 75 years of service to the Wakarusa

America at the Ballpark
America at the Ballpark is scheduled for June 21,2008 beginning
at 5:00 pm til dark.. This is an exciting day of fun, ball games,
prizes and a huge fireworks display at the close of the evening.
This is the sole fundraiser for the summer little league program.
Please come out and support our youth as we celebrate 30 years
of the Summer Little League Program!
Summer Softball/Baseball Little League Program
This program began in the summer of 1978 & is run by volunteers.
The season starts at the end of May and continues through June.
Programs consist of a PeeWee, Minor & Major boys, Jr. &
Sr. girls leagues. Wakarusa Softball/Baseball program is fun for
all ages. Come out on a summer night and enjoy an entertaining
time of food, fun, and fellowship with the people of Wakarusa.
And don't forget the popcorn! The 2008 season will begin May 21through
July 1st. Games will be played Monday through Friday starting

Wakarusa Tennis Program
Have a ball this summer! Join the Wakarusa Community Tennis Program...learn
a new game or improve your skills. Taught be local tennis talent,
Julia Yoder. Class size limited so hurry & reserve your space
today. Session #1 June 9 to June 25 (Monday through Thursday)
Session # 2 July 7 through July 25th (Monday through Thursday)
Beginner classes 9:00 to 9:50 am and Intermediate classes 10:00
to 11:00 am. Cost $25 per session. Balls provided; bring your
own racquet and water bottle. Private and advanced lessons also

Wakarusa Bluegrass Festival
The fourth Annual Wakarusa Jamboree Bluegrass Festival will be
held on June 14 of 2008. Special appearances will be made by Audie
Blaylock and Redline, The Virginia Cross Ties, The Tommy Webb
Band from Floyd County, Kentucky, Sandy Paul and Raisin' Corn
also Clyde Carr and the Michiana Hymn-Tymers, Ricky Prator and
the Midnight Travelers plus The Up and Running Bluegrass Band.

Antique Car Show
This annual event was held June 16th in beautiful downtown Wakarusa.
At the 2007 Antique Car Show approximately 100 antique and classic
cars were on display. The antique vehicles came from all over
the entire midwest to be judged as the best!! If you like cars,
plan to visit Wakarusa next June for the 6th annual Antique Car
Show.
Antique Tractor Show
The annual Antique Tractor & Machinery show will be held
September 6 & 7, 2008 at the Historical Museums. This annual
2-day event is something you will not want to miss. There are
many tractors on display to take a look at, a judging contest
with prizes for those "top tractors" and a tractor parade.
While at the tractor show you can check out the historical museums
and don't miss the homemade pie-baking contest.
Christmas Around the Tree & Downtown Open House
Come celebrate the season in Downtown Wakarusa on December 8,
2008. Come enjoy the live nativity, music around the Christmas
tree in the middle of town and the hot chocolate. Shops will be
open late for your shopping convenience.
Spring Craft Bazaar
Thanks for attending the 2007 Spring Craft Bazaar at Miller's
Senior Living. Many vendors provided a variety of items including
homemade crafts, wood products, baked goods and direct sales organizations.
Next year's event is scheduled for March 29, 2008 from 9:00 to

Open Every Fourth Sunday of the Month for June, July, August,
and September: 2- 4 p.m. The museums are located at 403 Wabash avenue.

The Town of Wakarusa has two parks. To rent the cabin at the park call the Clerk/Treasurer's office at 862-4314.
Prospective owners may tour on Monday through Friday at 10:00 am
and 2:00 pm
