The Museum contains many models of various landmarks throughout Indiana. These models are made from toothpicks, popsicle sticks, grape boxes from Chile, pencil lead boxes, and many more common items. This project was started in 1961 as a toy for a train layout for his two sons.
Stage 1 - The town of Wakarusa(142 buildings) as it appeared in the 1960's.
Stage 2 - At least one building from every town or city in Elkhart County. (38 Buildings)
Stage 3 - One building from each county in Indiana. There are 92 counties in Indiana, over 1/3 of these are done.
Admission fee is charged. A guided tour is given of this prize winning layout, and cameras are welcome. |
